TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR GE - DS200TCDAF1BCI

DS200TCDAF1BCI is a Software PROM Set manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the Mark V Series used in GE Speedtronic Control Systems. The Mark V I/O system is purpose-built to directly connect with various turbine and generator components, such as magnetic speed pickups, servos, LVDT/Rs, vibration sensors, thermocouples, and Resistive Temperature Devices (RTDs). This design enables smooth integration and communication between the Mark V and these critical devices, ensuring efficient and dependable operation.

  • Contact Inputs within the Mark V system play a pivotal role in its functionality. These inputs draw their primary power from the internal power distribution core, utilizing the 125 V DC bus. This power supply is thoughtfully designed, incorporating fuse isolation and current limitations to ensure the safe and effective interrogation of the contact inputs.
  • While the Mark V primarily operates on 125 V DC, it's important to note that it can accommodate input voltages ranging from 24 V DC to 125 V DC. However, lower voltage options may require an external power source separate from the Mark V unit.
  • To enhance system flexibility, jumpers are strategically placed on the terminal boards. These jumpers enable the isolation of field grounds by disconnecting the interrogation voltage from the contact inputs in groups of eight. This modular approach streamlines maintenance and troubleshooting, simplifying the identification and resolution of issues within specific groups of contact inputs.
  • Each contact input is equipped with optical isolation, ensuring both safety and accurate data collection. These inputs are highly responsive, providing a timestamp within 1 millisecond of any status change. This timestamp feature is invaluable for tracking and logging purposes.
  • When configured for a sequence of events (SOE) logging, the Mark V printer diligently records each status alteration of the contact inputs along with their respective timestamps. This capability is essential for analyzing and documenting the chronological sequence of events, aiding in diagnostic and operational assessments.
  • In terms of system reliability, diagnostic circuitry is central. This circuitry continuously tests the internal electronics of each contact input at a remarkable rate of every 1 millisecond. This rapid and proactive diagnostic approach is crucial for ensuring the system's dependability.
  • If any circuitry within these contact inputs experiences a failure, the system promptly triggers an alarm. This proactive response mechanism is critical for maintaining the overall health and reliability of the Mark V system, providing reassurance in its operation.
