TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR GE - DS200TCEAG1A

DS200TCEAG1A is an Emergency Overspeed Board and is part of the GE Speedtronic Mark V gas turbine control system. It features one microprocessor and many programmable read-only memory (PROM) modules that make up the GE Emergency Overspeed Board. 3 fuses, 30 jumpers, and 2 bayonet connections are also included. The firmware and operating instructions for the CPU are stored in PROM modules. You'll notice that the replacement board for the GE Emergency Overspeed Board isn't loaded with PROM modules. The PROM sockets are populated on the new board, but the PROM modules are not installed.

  • You will find that moving the PROM modules is a simple task due to their ease of removal and installation. One advantage of using the same modules is that the replacement board will work with the same set of instructions and software when the drive is restarted.
  • However, there are some rules and instructions to follow when working with the modules. The information held on the PROM modules can be damaged by static, rendering it useless for the CPU.
  • You must take action to remove the static from the modules in order to avoid this problem. When working on the board or with the PROM modules, the quickest method to do this is to get a wrist strap and wear it.
  • Both ends of the wrist strap must be correctly linked for the wrist strap to work. Wrap one end around your wrist or forearm. The wrist strap's opposite end has a clip that you can attach to a metal surface.
