TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR GE - ds200tcqbg1a

DS200TCQBG1A is an RST Extended Analog I/O Board manufactured and designed by General Electric that functions as a processor board as part of the Mark V Series used in gas turbine control systems. Both a programmable logic device and EPROM modules are included in the board. The GE RST Extended Analog I/O Board additionally contains 15 jumpers, 1 OK LED that can be seen from the side, and 1 50-pin connector. When the OK LED on the side is lighted, it indicates that the board is receiving power. It also shows whether or not the board is processing. If the OK LED is off and the drive is powered on, it could be the first sign that there is a problem.

DS200TCQBG1A Functional Description

The following functions are defined by the TCQB configuration:

  • Proximitor inputs
  • Inputs for LVDT/LVDR
  • 2 outputs for regulator milliamps
  • LM input vibrations

When proximitors are needed, the card is used on Steam Simplex and in some TMR applications.

Proximitor Types

  • RF devices known as proximitor types generally measure the separation between an object and the device itself, such as the separation between a turbine shaft and a proximitor. A voltage signal that is inversely proportional to this distance is the device's output.
  • Changes in the AC component of the voltage are perceived as vibration, whereas changes in the DC component are interpreted as changes in position.

Proximitor Shaft Location

  • The input shaft speed for an algorithm is specified by Proximitor Shaft Location Assignments.
  • The three different shaft rotation speeds have different vibration frequency spectra. To obtain the first and second order vibration signal components, sampling is done at a frequency that is eight times the fundamental frequency.

Peak to Peak Vibration

  • The Proximitors use the AC signal component to indicate vibration.
  • Only this AC component is measured by the vibration inputs.

Transducer Sensitivity

  • The transducer determines the sensitivity of the transducer, which is measured in Volts/mil of vibration.
  • Generic Bently Nevada Position/Proximitor Probes or Differential Expansion Probes are the two different types of transducers. These values are prescribed by the Gas Turbine department.

Proximitor Low Limit Diagnostics & Proximitor High Limit Diagnostics

  • The operating range of the Bently Nevada proximitors is 0 to 20 V.
  • The probes, however, are only linear between 2 and 16 V. When used to detect vibration, any value outside of this range is non-linear and the device is regarded as failing.
