The IS200BPIBG1A is a Phase Logic Interface Module manufactured by General Electric, designed for use in the Mark VI Series of GE Drive Control Systems. It serves as a Phase Logic Module/IGBT Drive Personality Interface board. This module is crucial for capturing and reporting faults in conjunction with an associated Gate Driver board or boards, with some faults being handled directly on the BPIB board. It also provides signal conditioning to the Gate Driver and Shunt Feedback boards via its P1 connector, located on the rear edge of the board. The board is intended for installation in a VME rack through this P1 connector. It connects to several IGBT boards using six plug connectors and detects Phase A/B/C sensing signals as well as DC-link positive and negative signals via five stab-on connectors.

  • Six plug connectors establish connections to various IGBT boards, while five stab-on connectors, discreetly positioned behind the front faceplate, detect Phase A/B/C sensing signals and DC-link positive and negative signals. Notably, this card does not include LED indicators, fuses, or TP test points.
  • Functions as a specialized Phase Logic Module/IGBT Drive Personality Interface, providing essential control signals for driving Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs) within a power conversion system.
  • Delivers the necessary input/output (I/O) signals and control functions to manage the operation of the IGBTs according to specified parameters.
  • The P1 connector supplies a 17.7 Vac square wave input to the transformer primaries, initiating the power conversion process. This input provides the primary power for the transformers, which in turn generate the required secondary voltages for the power supplies.
  • Each transformer includes one secondary winding that is fully rectified and filtered to produce an isolated +7.5 V dc output. This isolated voltage is linearly regulated to 5 V, ensuring stable and reliable operation of the isolated control interfaces within the system. The linear regulation maintains constant voltage levels even under varying load conditions.
  • In the +12 V supply, a 5 V linear regulator is incorporated to further regulate the +12 V down to 5 V, suitable for powering the 5 V logic circuits. This regulated 5 V supply ensures reliable and consistent voltage levels for the control logic.
