IS200DSCBH1A is a Simplex Serial Communication I/O Terminal Board manufactured and designed by General Electric and is part of the Mark VI Series used in Speedtronic gas turbine control systems. A small interface terminal board made for DIN-rail mounting is the Simplex Serial Communication Input/Output (DSCB) terminal board. A 37-wire connection links the DSCB to the VSCA board. Using RS-232C, RS-422, and RS-485 serial communications, VSCA offers communication interfaces with external devices. The clever pressure sensors utilized for valve actuation, such as the smart Honeywell® Pressure Transducers and Kollmorgen® Electric Drives, are among the external devices that are wired to the DSCB. Twisted pair with shielding is used for wiring to devices. The noise suppression for DSCB communication signals is built in. To enable system diagnostics, VSCA uses an onboard ID chip to identify the board.
INSTALLATION
The DSCB board should be slid into the plastic holder after mounting it to the DIN rail. The accompanying figure illustrates how to connect the wires for the external devices to the terminal block of the Euro-Block type. For the SCOM (ground) connection, which should be as brief as feasible, there are four terminals available. The 37-pin JA1 connector should be used to link DSCB to VSCA.
OPERATION
The three XDSA boards are multi-drop intermediate distribution boards for the RS-422 signals. Ports P1, P2, P3, and P4 on these boards are where the pressure transducers are connected. The interface between DSCB and 12 Honeywell pressure transducers is shown in the accompanying diagram using Ports 1 and 2 of two of the six VSCA channels.
CONFIGURATION
There is a jumper on each of the six channels that connects the cable shield to the ground through a capacitor. When the shield is grounded at the device end, these are employed. The Installation section includes a diagram of the jumper positions. The VSCA board and toolbox are used for every other configuration.
