TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR GE - IS200EPSMG2A

IS200EPSMG2A is an Exciter Power Supply Module part of the GE Mark VI series used in Excitation control systems. This series is a later version of General Electric's Speedtronic steam or gas turbine management system. The Mark VI features Ethernet capabilities and a PC-based operator interface that runs on the Windows operating system. All digital and analog data in the Mark VI can be accessed through this HMI (human-machine interface). The HMI, however, is a non-essential component of the control system, thus it can be changed or reinitialized without affecting the control system. The EPSM card is available in two versions for the Mark VI. The first (EPSMG1) is used in the thyristor system, while the second (EPSMG2) is employed in the regulator control.

  • The IS200EPSMG2A is similar to the EPSMG1 board, except it has a daughterboard built-in (EPSD.) It transforms DC link voltages into the various voltages needed by the EX2100 regulator control system.
  • Two of these boards will be used in redundant systems, one in the Exciter Regulator Backplane and the other in the Exciter Regulator Redundant Backplane. One board is required for simplex systems.
  • It provides +5 V DC, +/- 15 V DC, and +24 V DC voltages. The primary board features two inductors, one of which is a big Bicron inductor. It contains five heat sink-equipped transistors, four additional heat sinks, nine fuses, a transformer, and many high-voltage electrolytic capacitors.
