TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR GE - IS200PHRAH1A

IS200PHRAH1A is an HART Enabled analog I/O module developed by General Electric. It is a part of GE Mark VIe system. An electrical link between one or two I/O Ethernet networks and an analog input/output terminal board is provided by the Highway Addressable Remote Transducer (HART) Enabled Analog Input/Output (PHRA) pack. This pack includes an acquisition board tailored to the analog input function as well as a processor board that is shared by all Mark VIe distributed I/O packs.

The first eight analog inputs of the pack can be set up as 5 V inputs or 4-20 mA current loop inputs, and the pack can handle up to 10 analog inputs in total. It is possible to set up the final two inputs as 4-20 mA or 1 mA current inputs. On the terminal board are the load termination resistors for the inputs of the current loop, and the PHRA senses the voltage across these resistors. Two outputs for 4-20 mA current loops are supported by the PHRA as well. The PHRA may also relay HART messages between field devices equipped with HART and an asset management system when operating in 4-20 mA mode (AMS). Any inputs or outputs are available for connecting these HART-capable field devices.

COMPATIBILITY

  • The HART Enabled Analog Input Terminal Board and PHRA are compatible (SHRA).
  • The number of I/O packs employed in a signal path is referred to as the control mode. One I/O pack and one or two network connections are used by simplex.
  • INSTALLATION

  • Mount the selected terminal board firmly.
  • Directly connect one PHRA I/O pack to the connector on the terminal board.
  • Use the threaded studs next to the Ethernet ports to mechanically secure the pack. The studs slip into a mounting bracket made for the particular style of the terminal board.
  • It is important to position the bracket such that the DC-62 pin connector between the terminal board and the pack is not subjected to a straight-angle force. Only one adjustment should be necessary during the lifespan of the product.
  • Depending on the setup of the machine, connect either one or two Ethernet wires. Either port will allow the pack to function. When using dual connections, it is customary to link ENET1 to the network connected to the R controller.
  • Connect the connector on the side of the pack to a power source to power the battery. Because the I/O pack has an inherent soft-start feature that regulates current inrush on power application, it is not essential to turn off the power before plugging the cable in.
  • If necessary, set up the I/O pack using the ToolboxST program. See also the section on auto-reconfiguration.
  • OPERATION

  • The processor board is common to all Mark VIe Ethernet I/O packs or modules. It contains the following:
  • High-speed processor with RAM and flash memory
  • Two fully independent 10/100 Ethernet ports with connectors
  • Hardware watchdog timer and reset circuit
  • Internal temperature sensor
  • Status-indication LEDs
  • Electronic ID and the ability to read IDs on other boards
  • Input power connector with soft start/current limiter
  • Local power supplies, including sequencing and monitoring
