The IS210SCLSH1A interprets and routes discrete logic signals—such as interlocks, status flags, and startup/shutdown commands—within the turbine control system. It features low-latency FPGA logic to implement configurable Boolean functions, timing delays, and watchdog monitoring. Designed as a simplex (non-redundant) board, it is ideal for non-critical signaling tasks while still offering error-checking on each channel.
Installation
Slide the card into any simplex-labeled slot in the I/O section of the Mark VI rack. Align the board’s guide rails and press gently until the latches engage. Terminate field wires on the front-panel screw terminals, following GE’s recommended wire-gauge and torque values. After wiring, apply power and verify that the module’s “Ready” LED turns green.
Operation
Once commissioned, the board continuously scans its inputs at microsecond resolution, evaluating logic equations stored in its configuration memory. Outputs are driven synchronously to the CPU’s scan cycle, ensuring coherent system behavior. Any input line fault (open/short) is logged and reported, facilitating rapid troubleshooting during commissioning or maintenance.
