The IS210SCSAS1A is the heart of the Mark VI servo-valve interface, converting control-system commands into precise actuator movements. Internally, it houses high-speed digital filters, analog-to-digital converters for LVDT feedback, and power amplifiers for actuator coils. The module maintains closed-loop positioning by comparing desired and actual shaft positions, continuously adjusting coil currents to minimize error. Redundant onboard diagnostics monitor amplifier health and temperature, flagging any drift or degraded performance.
Installation
Mount the SCSA on the designated card guides in the Mark VI control cabinet. Ensure the card edge seats fully into the backplane connector until the latching handle clicks. Connect the LVDT feedback cables and coil power leads to the front-panel terminals, observing GE’s color-coding and torque specs. Finally, confirm proper grounding via the chassis earth point and attach the Ethernet ribbon cable for diagnostics data.
Operation
Upon power-up, the module performs a built-in self-test of its amplifiers, converters, and digital logic. In run mode, it receives position commands from the Mark VI CPU every millisecond, adjusts coil currents accordingly, and streams back real-time diagnostics. Should an amplifier channel fault, the module automatically switches to a redundant channel (if available) or generates an alarm to the main CPU, ensuring safe turbine response.
