This dual-channel card reads both thermocouple and RTD sensors, converting millivolt or resistance signals into calibrated temperature values. Each channel includes open-circuit detection, cold-junction compensation for TCs, and three-wire lead-resistance compensation for RTDs. Programmable filter constants ensure stable readings even on noisy turbine piping.
Installation
Slide into an analog I/O shelf slot; secure with the front-panel latch. Field wiring connects via plug-in terminal blocks, with clear TC vs RTD grouping to prevent mis-wiring. After wiring, configure channel types in the Mark VI configuration tool and perform an automatic span check.
Operation
During run, the card sequentially scans each channel at up to 200 Hz, averages multiple samples, and feeds temperature data to the CPU’s cooling and safety logic. It flags any open circuits or out-of-range readings, prompting controlled turbine cooldown or trip if necessary.
