A safety-certified analog input pack for critical process parameters (pressure, flow, vibration). Each channel offers galvanic isolation, 24-bit ADC resolution, and diagnostic checks for sensor drift, short/open circuits, and ground faults. Configurable trip thresholds enable autonomous protective actions at the module level.
Installation
Rack-mount in the SIL-rated I/O bay; secure with captive screws. Connect field analog lines to the shielded terminal block, tying shields to chassis at a single point. In the configuration utility, assign each channel’s engineering units and safety thresholds before closing the bay door.
Operation
Upon initialization, the pack verifies each channel’s linearity and isolation barriers. During operation, it supplies continuous data streams to the CPU’s safety logic. If any channel exceeds its safety limit, the pack issues a direct trip signal, bypassing higher-level logic to guarantee rapid protection.
